A social media savvy group of two-person teams will embark on an exciting, urban scavenger hunt. Unlike traditional scavenger hunts, Downtown Dash teams will utilize their social channels (Foursquare and Twitter) to collect points and complete challenges. Teams can win prizes for the pre-game competition, the Social Engagement Challenge, and individual challenges on event-day. Three grand prizes are available for first, second and third place teams. On 9-10-11, the challenge will start at ING DIRECT Cafe in Chicago. A series of clues will take you on an adventure across city parks, monuments and attractions. You’ll navigate through local businesses, hotels, restaurants, and possibly, even river cruises. Faced with questions and physical tasks, you will be called upon to exercise your acute social media skills to find clues and gain additional points by tweeting your answers with the event hashtag – #DTDash.
Register early for your chance to win pre-game prizes, take advantage of partner promotions and invites to impromptu events between now and 9-10-11. Signing up early gives you an added advantage of getting to know your competition – other teams you’ll be competing against. The sooner you sign up, the more clues you can collect, and the more time you’ll have to win the pre-game prizes
All of the teams, volunteers, judges and friends are invited to a post-event party to celebrate the Downtown Dash. Invite your friends and family for food and drinks immediately following the physical challenge. Winners will be announced at the after-party*.
*If judges cannot determine a winner by 6:00 p.m. on September 10, 2011, the winner be announced on Monday, September 12, 2011.
